Welcome to Our Wedding Celebration!
We are excited to celebrate our marriage with you at a location dear to our hearts. Blair spent her summers growing up with her family and friends in Atlantic Beach, NY, and we continue to value every moment spent on this stretch of beach.
Atlantic Beach and the neighboring town of Long Beach make up a barrier island just east of the Rockaways, bordering New York City. At just 20 minutes from JFK, it's an easy Uber or train ride from the airport for those traveling from afar (also an easy trip from LGA).
Getting Here from NYC
If you are traveling from NYC, you can get here in about an hour via the Long Island Railroad (LIRR), car, or Uber.
An Uber or Lyft from or to NYC will cost around $60-$125.
Two branches of the LIRR stop nearby. You can get off at the Long Beach stop of the Long Beach branch or the Lawrence stop of the Far Rockaway branch. You can grab an Uber from the train station. There are also taxis waiting at the Long Beach train station. (Sometimes Google Maps will route you to a subway and then a bus, but it's easier to take the LIRR, which runs regularly every hour from Atlantic Terminal, Penn Station, and Grand Central. Recommended Accommodations
Allegria Hotel
This is our recommended hotel for convenience and location (but not price!). It's on the beach and close to our events. We will offer transportation from here, but it is also close to nearby Airbnbs and the more affordable Long Beach Hotel.
Please use the instructions below to book with our wedding block special rate (~$450) and avoid the minimum night stay.
First, go to the Allegria Hotel Website and on the top right-hand corner click "Book Your Stay." Enter your dates and then (once more) click "Book Your Stay." Next, on the left-hand side of the page, click "Add Group Code" and enter "2406GARO." Click "Update." Be careful not to enter the code into the "Promo Code" field. You should then see the available rooms with the special rate. Please let us know if you have any trouble!
Airbnb or VRBO
We recommend booking a house or apartment in Long Beach, NY. We think this is your best option considering cost and convenience (and fun!). There aren't many available though, so we encourage everyone to book as soon as you can! We've gathered options at the links below. If you find any others and would like us to check them out before booking, just send them our way! There is a big price range depending on size and quality. Prices start around $100/night. (Note that some of the houses on Airbnb are showing up as unavailable but are available when you click on them.)
Long Beach Hotel
This hotel has a great location in Long Beach, and is a more affordable option than the Allegria. It is not deluxe. In fact, you may be somewhat shocked by how not deluxe it is, given the price. Rooms here are around $250/night. You can book online or call (516) 544-4444 and reference our wedding (but there is no special rate available).
Five Towns Inn
This is a tried and true option! However, it is a ways from the beach and more of an industrial feel. Rooms with the wedding block are $189 + tax. To book with this rate, please call (516) 371-2600 and reference the Ganson wedding.
The Rockaway Hotel
This option is further away from our events, but in a fun, beachy area of Queens. Rooms here come in at a daunting $800/night.
TWA Hotel
This option is also further away from our events, but located in JFK Airport and with a historic TWA theme. It’s very fun. Rooms are around $500/night.
